Toronto Pearson launches new aviation career program for students

Toronto Pearson and Ingenium’s Canada Aviation and Space Museum are launching Aerospace Experiences: Airport Edition, a new program designed to introduce more than 1,600 high school students to careers across the aviation industry by 2028.

Beginning in spring 2027, students will connect with Toronto Pearson professionals through classroom presentations, hands-on workshops and career conversations covering areas including aircraft and airfield operations, passenger services, safety and emergency services, technology, skilled trades and facilities maintenance.

The initiative builds on Ingenium’s existing Aerospace Experiences program, which has reached more than 4,000 students in Ottawa. With a focus on expanding access to industry connections, 50% of participating students will be targeted from equity-deserving communities, including newcomers, underserved schools and youth underrepresented in STEM.

For students interested in aviation, tourism, transportation and related careers, the program offers an opportunity to see firsthand the wide range of roles that help keep Canada’s largest airport operating.
