New report forecasts strong growth for Canada’s tourism industry through 2035

The Canadian Tourism Data Collective has released a new report entitled Canadian Tourism Outlook 2026–2035.

The report provides a long-term forecast for Canada’s tourism sector, highlighting continued growth in visitor spending, economic impact, and opportunities for destinations across the country.

Highlights include:

  • Tourism spending is projected to reach $140.9 billion in 2026, a 6% increase over 2025.
  • By 2035, tourism spending is forecast to grow to $216.3 billion, representing a 67% increase from 2024.
  • Continued growth in domestic and international travel is expected to strengthen Canada’s visitor economy and support communities nationwide.
