I chose to study travel and tourism because…: I discovered my passion for travel during a six-month exchange program to Leuven, Belgium and decided that I wanted to make a career of it.
The most exciting travel trend right now is…: Cultually immersive experiences like home-stays with locals, and community festivals allow travellers to build acceptance and understanding.
One thing I can’t travel without is…: A good book. When planes are delayed or you’re stuck in traffic or you’re just relaxing after a long day, a good book is like having a friend by your side.
In 10 years, I see myself…: In a leadership role at a tour operator and perhaps teaching part-time for the program at Humber.
On my next trip, I’m going to…: Backpack through South America, starting in Colombia and working my way through Ecuador and Peru.
On my bucket list is…: Canada’s North holds an allure unlike any other for me. I have a deep yearning to see Tuktut Nogait, one of Canada’s least visited National Parks.
What’s the best travel advice I’ve received so far?: To keep a travel journal. It’s nice to record your experiences and how you felt and is definitely appreciated years later.
