Why did you choose to study travel & tourism?
After years of working in a field which didn’t motivate me, I decided to change careers and pursue my true passion, tourism.
What is your greatest professional strength?
My greatest professional strength would be that I always want to improve. No matter what the task, I always strive to do it the right way.
What’s your dream travel & tourism job?
Quite honestly, I feel like it’s too early to tell. There are many areas of travel and tourism which I find interesting.
In your opinion, what’s the most exciting trend in travel right now and why?
I would have to say river cruises. Travelling by river is the best way to explore historical cities and cultures. I can see why river cruises have become so popular.
What is one thing you can’t travel without?
Paper maps. Call me old-fashioned, but I enjoy exploring a new city while using a paper map. By the time I’m done my trip, my maps are usually falling to pieces.
How many countries have you visited?
I have visited 18 countries.
Name your favourite travel experience so far:
My favourite travel experience was paddling on the Lady Evelyn River and getting to stay at Hap Wilson’s Cabin Falls Ecolodge. Getting to meet one of my idols made an incredible trip even better.
What’s on your travel bucket list?
Next on my bucket list would be to visit England with my wife.
Name your greatest achievement so far:
I would have to say that being a husband and father would top the list.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I hope that I can continue to visit the world and remove items from my bucket list.
What’s the best OR worst piece of travel advice you’ve received?
The best travel advice I’ve received is to avoid spending too much time taking pictures while on a trip. Just try to be in the moment.
