Why did you choose to study travel & tourism?
I chose this field because as a child, I quickly fell in love with traveling, and I knew I wanted to revolve my life around it. Traveling provides me with the opportunity to immerse myself in the beautiful cultures that the planet has to offer. During my travels, I have cherished engaging with new acquaintances and cultivating meaningful connections with them. My travels continue to generate transformative experiences and I intend to share those with others in the future.
What is your greatest professional strength?
My greatest professional strength includes my ability to uplift others. Whether it be fellow co-workers, frequent visitors to Canada or fresh faces in foreign lands, my intention is to make a positive impact in someone’s life.
What’s your dream travel & tourism job?
My dream job is to be an advocate for sustainable travel. To me, this ranges from facilitating sustainable tourism practices, promoting the preservation of cultural heritage, participating in community driven initiatives, and creating a desirable travel experience for those who also have the passion to travel ethically.
In your opinion, what’s the most exciting trend in travel right now and why?
I believe the most exciting trend is sustainable travel. It is truly inspiring that numerous individuals believe in the importance of connecting with local communities in a way that minimizes detrimental impact to these precious environments. It warms my heart that humans can unite and support this beneficial cause.
What is one thing you can’t travel without?
My journal.
How many countries have you visited?

Name your favourite travel experience so far:
In 2014 my family of six took a three-week vacation to Europe. About a week into our travels, all our suitcases were stolen from our rental car. So why was this my favorite travel experience? Despite this traumatic experience, our family persevered and continued the vacation. With less “baggage”, we made beautiful memories together and created an even deeper bond.
What’s on your travel bucket list?
I am looking forward to visiting Thailand, Tanzania, Egypt, Peru, Japan, and the Maldives, to name a few.
Name your greatest achievement so far:
My greatest personal achievement is the completion of Tourism – Destinations and Travel Management program at Conestoga College. My greatest professional achievement was being an essential worker during the COVID years.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I envision myself living in an eco-conscious home surrounded by a variety of plant species. Within these walls, I will create nutritious, balanced meals nurturing myself and my loved ones. In my professional life, I am committed to leaving a positive imprint on the travel and tourism industry by advocating for ethical and sustainable practices. I am eager to experience this episode in my life.
What’s the best OR worst piece of travel advice you’ve received?
The best advice I have received was from my younger sister. She recommended that I write in my journal about my travel experiences. This has allowed me to look back and revisit the memories and lessons that I have learned. It is a great self-reflection exercise and helps me to see how much I have grown. Journaling is a great tool for enhancing creativity and providing a space for an emotional outlet.
